The video shows a member of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) being punched by the driver of a Nissan Vanette motorcycle.

The involved male driver reportedly refused to stop when detained by the JPJ officer for further inspection, leading to a chase to Jalan Tasik Darul Aman, Jitra, Kedah, where tension escalated.

In addition to assaulting the JPJ officer, the driver can be heard using vulgar language and engaging in provocations.

On Wednesday, the Kedah State Road Transport Department (JPJ) informed that the incident actually occurred on November 23, 2023, around 4 in the afternoon.

A police report has been filed following the involvement of individuals in committing criminal violence and obstructing public servants from performing their duties.

As a result, the individual involved has been arrested by the police and charged in the Jitra Magistrate's Court under Section 353 of the Penal Code.

"The court has sentenced him to one day in prison from the date of conviction and a fine of RM4,000," said JPJ Kedah in a statement.

Furthermore, before the incident, the on-duty officers were conducting enforcement patrols when they identified a suspicious vehicle.

"Initial inspection revealed three offenses: expired Motor Vehicle License (LKM), no insurance coverage, and an expired PUSPAKOM certification.

"The vehicle was instructed to stop, but the driver refused to cooperate," he added.
